Summer is here, even though it's been rainy. Pathways are being mowed and maintained so please come down and take a little walk. Enjoy the benches and check out the herb garden. We have planted some beautiful flowers and bushes around the pond. Fisherman of all ages are testing their angling skills this year. There is talk of a monster catfish lurking in the depths along with some rock bass. The Blue Spruce tree which was donated by Randy and Sandy Schmiedeknecht has been planted at the ponds edge. If you are interested in donating a memorial tree for a loved one this year, please contact us.
The Davis Riverfront Park group is continuing the improvements to the park with the monies raised from last year. New flower beds have been created in the Herb Garden area. Once complete, this will be beautiful. Extensive work around the river has opened up the view shed of the Blackwater River. Seeding and planting continues. The 24' x 36' pavillion groundbreaking should take place in late June 2009. If you would like to donate any flowers, bushes or trees please contact us. All donations are greatly appreciated and more color, the better for all to enjoy.
We have received two large private donations along with smaller donations which we plan to continue enhancing the walking trails. We
will be planning other small projects utilizing monies from other donations and
grants. We have photos of the progress on this website, so
bookmark this site and revisit later in the spring and summer as we update the progress.
